For The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the PC, a GameFAQs Answers question titled 'How do I install mods?'

Originally posted by Stwest:Title says it all. I just got the game, and i was wondering what mods are essential yet looore friendly.A must -If your computer can handle it -Optional -The first link is to the Morrowind Code Patch. The second one will improve your grafics and make it look more modern. The third and fourth mod add new content and make the world feel bit bigger and more filled. Both leave the vanilla game alone so you dont have to worry about altering that.Just a note with the last mod linked (Tamriel Rebuilt).

It is not yet finished so you may run into empty places with out npc on the new lands, but imo it is still worth it, especially when combined with Morrowind Rebirth (third link). For the mods I mentioned, I wouldn't even use nexus mod manager, just download them manually from the nexus site. Going off memory, the unofficial patch goes in the data folder of morrowind and you just need to enable the esp file from the morrowind launcher. The the code patch has its executable and other files that get extracted directly in the morrowind folder, then you just run the code patch from there, select your options and click apply patch at the bottom of that window. MGE XE goes directly in the morrowind folder as well, just run that from there and choose your settings, once done, close the window and run morrowind. You just need UAC disabled for the duration because it scripts direct mouse movements and keyboard shortcuts to run the other programs/mod installers and UAC popups will crash it. Wasn't trying to imply it didn't, just easy to manage anything additional and for other games too with nexus. In my opinion i wouldnt use that overhaul, it uses an outdated code patch, and it can either make or break your game. If this if your first time in morrowind, its best to just enjoy as much vanilla as you can until your ready to start a new game with the overhaul if you want.

OP wants lore friendly, well your not gonna get any more lore friendly and stability than the 3 patches i mentioned. Its easy enough to install them manually, nexus mod manager and the overhaul are more trouble than their worth. The code patch, unofficial patch and MGE XE doesnt change the graphics and alter the gameplay like the overhaul does, not to mention the overhaul also known to cause the game to CTD alot (i know thats gonna happen sooner or later, but defiantely not as often as the overhaul)but hey, if you want to disable your security and let a third party excexutable control your pc, go right ahead, just dont say i didnt warn you.

Note that Minion and AddOns are mod content, and thus their use can potentially alter your ESO files in unforeseen ways. Use at your own risk.Once Minion is installed and open, you'll be able to sort through a variety of quality AddOn mods. Select the one you want by clicking, then press the Install button in the top-right corner. After an AddOn is installed through Minion, close Minion and launch ESO. By pressing Escape you'll gain access to your AddOns menu, where you can simply check or uncheck AddOns to enable or disable them. Pressing the restart UI button in this window refreshes your Interface, adding and removing AddOns according to your selections. It is unwise to run Minion and ESO simultaneously. Always fully close one program before opening the other.Useful AddOns There are several useful AddOns already available for ESO, with a number of potentially helpful Mods in various stages of development.Foundry Tactical Combat An immensely helpful mod that streamlines the Health, Magic, and Stamina bars, adds pop-up warnings for combat events, and reports of buff/debuff cool down.

Absolutely essential.WarLegend HUD Similar to Foundry, WarLegend improves the tactical analysis options at your disposal. While it's features aren't quite as slick as Foundry, you may want to try it out for comparison's sake.ZrMiniMap Adds a small map to the corner of your display, greatly enhancing your navigation. You can discern your route and relative location at a glance. The first time you run ZrMiniMap, you may get an error and have to restart it a couple of times, but don't fret. After this, it works just fine.Inventory Grid View IGV allows you to toggle between the game's standard Inventory view and a compact grid view allowing you to see many more items on screen at one time. The compressed perspective is extremely helpful for sorting, and the toggle guarantees you don't lose any functionality.Research Assistant Research Assistant is a nifty little AddOn that can save you a lot of headaches. All ESO Weapons and Armor have certain unique. To learn to craft a certain Trait for a particular Weapon type (sword, staff, etc) a character must carry a version of that particular Weapon employing that particular Trait for some length of time, researching it. It's easy to lose track of what Trait/Weapon combinations you have and haven't learned.

Research Assistant solves this by adding an icon next to every Weapon and Armor in your inventory. Green means you've learned everything you can from it and may freely sell, discard, or re-purpose it. Red means hold on, there's still more research to do.X4D LibAntiSpam The ESO chat is plagued by spammers offering to sell gold. X4D LibAntiSpam is designed to tackle this pervasive problem and block the spam.Esoutpost Addon An addon that generates a code based on an item in your inventory to copy and paste to. ESO Outpost allows players to trade gold and items using a web-based interface and the ESOutpost addon.
